It seems a little unfortunate having to use Glimpse in order to gain glimpse but nothing spent, nothing gained. Cold Symmetry has announced the first free update for Mortal Shell and it is called Rotten Autumn. Gorf will appear to vomit on the character, changing the shell Shade based upon what he ate.
Not just as animals and enemies, but as ornate stone statues. He doesn't appear to play a larger role in the story, yet one thing you'll notice right from the start is that frogs are everywhere. That's it I have both 1st and 2nd shades for every shell. Players need to feed Gorf, then play their lute around him. Gorf is one of the more memorable NPCs in the game, being a peaceful giant frog, but his control over music and gift of color are his only contributions. Ok I dont know how there is so much confusion, for any shell go to the frog, gorf, feed him 5 rats and play the lute, that's 1 new shade, then feed him 10 rats, and play the lute and that's your second shade. Gorf will move its head in a circular motion. Once this is up, players can walk around Fallgrim killing stronger enemies with increased Glimpse drop rates. Unlock Shades in Mortal Shell The process for unlocking Shades appears random at first, and somewhat disgusting. Gorf is a giant frog located in Fallgrim, along the river right before the entrance to the Eternal Narthex. Doing so will unlock a new NPC named Thestus, and offering him a glimpse will enable players to switch the Fog off and on. Players should quickly and deftly avoid combat in order to return to Fallgrim tower so they can give the gland to the Old prisoner. After defeating the boss and receiving the corresponding sacred gland, the temple as well as Fallgrim will be covered in Fog as players journey back to Fallgrim tower.
Mortal shell gorf upgrade#
Players require a couple of items in order to upgrade their characters in Mortal Shell and earning them can sometimes be quite tedious. In order to unlock the Fog mechanic, players must engage one of the 3 temples Shrine of Ash, Crypt of Martyrs, and Seat of Infinity the easiest one to complete is the Shrine of Ash. Mortal Shell gives players a pretty straight forward method for upgrading their shells and that's collecting tar and more importantly, Glimpse.
Regularly, sub-bosses and main bosses have a guaranteed glimpse drop, but with the fog up, regular enemies establish drop rates pretty close to those numbers. However, enveloping the game world in Fog will increase the average drop rate of glimpse by an agreeable margin as many of the enemies during the fog state are much stronger and harder to kill. Glimpse drops randomly from enemies in the world and there isn't any particular rhyme or reason to their consistency.
